National Book Launch at the Feilding Farmers Market
Friday 2 November from 10am till 2pm
Friendly Feilding (NZ’s Most Beautiful Town 13 times) is hosting the national launch of a book entitled ‘Market Day – a taste of life at New Zealand Farmers Markets’ by author Vicki Win, photographer Terry Winn and published by New Holland.
This new book is a delightful, colorful and informative coverage of various authentic Farmers Markets around New Zealand, including our Feilding Farmers Market, which is now in its third successful year. The cover page features one of our stallholders, Tracee’s Homemade Lemonade Syrup and the back cover features Riverside’s vegies. Inside there are recipes and interesting stories about stallholders and how they grow their produce/products plus great information about various Farmers Markets around NZ.
Friday 2 November in Manchester Square, Feilding (during our weekly Farmers Market) we are holding a special day to launch this book. The day features:
- Great range of stallholder produce/products
- Live Jazz band
- Celebrity Chef, Hester Guy cooking demonstration using locally grown produce
- Free sampling and tasting of various fresh products
- Celebrity Guest Luncheon
Luncheon –our invited guests will take their seats at the table set out in the center of the Market to enjoy stallholders locally grown product/products and Hester Guy’s dish.
Our celebrities include the book’s author & publisher, Manawatu District Mayor Ian McKelvie and MP Simon Power.
The Market Day books will be on sale from 10.30am and can be autographed by the author - price $34.95 each.
This national book launch is a great opportunity for Feilding to profile our Farmers Market, which is now a key weekly event for our region.
